The worship song of the month for April is Hallelujah, What a Savior. Philip Bliss, author of It is Well, wrote this wonderful hymn in 1875 and the version we are learning at Heartland is by Austin Stone Worship. Austin Stone has kept the main melody intact and have added a chorus. Theology of this song can be found on Austin Stone’s website by clicking here.

VERSE 1:
Man of sorrows, what a name
For the Son of God who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim
Hallelujah! What Savior

VERSE 2:
Stand unclean, no one else could
In my place condemned He stood
Now His nearness is my good
Hallelujah! What a Savior

CHORUS:
Hallelujah, praise to the one
Whose blood has pardoned me
Oh what a Savior, Redeemer and King
Your love has rescued me

VERSE 3:
Lifted up was He to die
“It is finished!” was His cry
Now in Heaven lifted high
Hallelujah! What a Savior

VERSE 4:
When He comes, our Glorious King
All His ransomed home to bring
Then anew this song we’ll sing
Hallelujah! What a Savior
Hallelujah! What a Savior

CHORUS:
Hallelujah, praise to the one
Whose blood has pardoned me
Oh what a Savior, Redeemer and King
Your love has rescued me

CHORUS:
Hallelujah, praise to the one
Whose blood has pardoned me
Oh what a Savior, Redeemer and King
Your love has rescued me
